It's disappointing, we know, but we're not talking about burning random designs into the paint of your car the way that professional athletes disfigure their skin. That would actually require a modicum of ingenuity. Instead, we must devote a page to discuss the bumper graffiti which advertises sunglasses, amusement parks, clothing lines, athletic gear, surfboards, car accessories, music groups, etc. on one's mode of transportation. Here's the crazy part: people aren't getting paid to do it and it's not even free.
We very intentionally will not include any such branding in our coverage of tailgate crap, though displaying it is an embarrassing expression to be sure. If we were to share it here, we would only be furthering the indiscretion.
It isn't as if your car doesn't already carry a brand: the make and model dictated by your vehicle's manufacturer. Many people fly the logo of the dealership where the car was purchased. With the rare exception, however, these appear to be not worth avoiding.
No, it appears that a growing number of motorists are determined to pay for the right to advertise a given company's trademark. Imagine the delight of the advertiser! You're paying them to slap their brand on your car.
